Year 7 Admission to Weald of Kent Grammar September 2020
If your child has been successful in the Kent Selection Tests ‘Congratulations’.
You have until 31 October to complete and submit your Schools Common Application Form. If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium please complete the relevant Supplementary Information Form and send it direct to Mrs Manning at the Tonbridge Campus by Friday 29 November. Please provide evidence from your child’s Primary school confirming that she is eligible for Pupil Premium.
It is not necessary to submit the Campus Supplementary form at this time. Once you have been made an offer of a place on 2 March or later we will contact you to ask for your preferred Campus.
In the event that your child was not successful in the testing you have the right to lodge an appeal. If you are unsure whether to lodge an appeal speak to your child’s Primary School Headteacher who will be able to offer advice. If they and/or you feel that a Grammar school is the right environment for your child, you will be able to lodge an appeal from 2 March – 27 March 2020. Please make sure that you name Weald of Kent on your School Common Application Form as this will entitle you to lodge an appeal after National Offer day. It is not necessary to name us first on the SCAF form. In due course you will be able to download an Appeal to Secondary Form from the Kent.Gov.uk website.
If you are still unsure whether to apply for a place at Weald of Kent we have two more Open Mornings.
- Tonbridge Campus on Tuesday 29 October from 9.30am – 10.30am
- Sevenoaks Campus on Wednesday 30 October from 9.30am – 10.30am
Do please come along and take a look.
Thank you for considering Weald of Kent for your child. Prospective families are always very welcome to visit our school by attending one of our Open Events or by making an individual visit by appointment.
Girls normally join the school at 11+ having successfully gained a Kent selective place through the PESE process. Sometimes entry is possible into other year groups and full details about the admissions and appeals processes for students aged 11-16 can be found in the Admissions Policy. We are also delighted to welcome new students into our co-educational Sixth Form and entry details are again provided in the Sixth Form section of the website.
Working supportively alongside parents and students, we believe, is central to our ethos that values and nurtures individuality. Equally this robust partnership stimulates our drive to secure opportunities for students to achieve high academic results whilst still affording them a platform to extend their personal qualities.
We understand the importance of identifying the most suitable secondary school and value the trust parents place in us when they select Weald of Kent. Therefore, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Manning, who can help you to explore how our school can match your child’s academic and personal ambitions.
