Thank you for considering Weald of Kent for your child.

Students normally join the school at 11+ having successfully gained a Kent selective place through the PESE process. Sometimes entry is possible into other year groups and full details about the admissions and appeals processes for students aged 11-16 can be found in the Admissions Policy. We are also delighted to welcome new students into our co-educational Sixth Form and entry details are again provided in the Sixth Form section of the website.

Working supportively alongside parents and students, we believe, is central to our ethos that values and nurtures individuality. Equally this robust partnership stimulates our drive to secure opportunities for students to achieve high academic results whilst still affording them a platform to extend their personal qualities.

We understand the importance of identifying the most suitable secondary school and value the trust parents place in us when they select Weald of Kent. Therefore, please do not hesitate to contact our Admissions Office, who can help you to explore how our school can match your child’s academic and personal ambitions.

Appeals

If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2022, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 1 March 2022).

You must submit your appeal before Monday 28 March 2022 for it to be considered by Thursday 16 June 2022. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

We politely request that you scan and email all appeal documentation to admissions@wealdgs.org.  Please do not post appeal documents to school.  Weald of Kent Grammar School is committed to ensuring that appellants with disabilities and/or impairments receive equal opportunities and treatment.  If you have a disability or impairment and require our support to provide your appeal paperwork in an electronic form, please contact admissions@wealdgs.org.
