On Friday 3 February, the Year 13 A Level PE students visited the Sport Science Labs at Canterbury Christchurch University. The students took part in a number of lab-based fitness tests, including the VO2 max and Wingate tests, as well as a range of field-based fitness tests. The students showed excellent levels of interest and enthusiasm throughout the day and enjoyed applying the knowledge they have learnt in the classroom. They were a credit to the school and impressed the university staff with their in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. A special mention to Adam, James and Callum who really pushed themselves to complete the maximal fitness tests whilst in the labs. It was a pleasure to take this trip, and we look forward to taking the Year 12s later in the year.
