On Monday 23rd March, our U13 Chance 2 Compete Cricket team headed to the finals after securing their place through the group stages earlier in the year.
We started off against Eltham Hill School. Sofia bowled the first over and got a wicket in her second ball, with Esther following the same trajectory and gaining a wicket in her last ball. Charlotte also took two consecutive wickets in her over, and we kept them to 43-5. The team were also brilliant in the batting and managed to score 61-0. In our second game, we played Highworth Grammar, where we opted to field first. Esther, Sofia and Lottie bowled wickets in their overs, and with some brilliant fielding from the rest of the team. During the batting innings, the students were bold and brave in their attack, but unfortunately lost the final by 8 runs. Therefore, the team finished in second place. Well done to all students involved, this is a fantastic achievement.
