On 11th February, the Weald of Kent Grammar School orchestra, string septet, flute trio and soloists performed in the Orchestra Showcase. The orchestra has grown considerably since last year’s concert and as a result, the ensemble created a full symphonic sound, balanced by nuanced playing in the smaller ensembles and excellent soloists. Students from both sites were able to come together for a rehearsal day last term which resulted in an excellent display of musicianship and ensemble skills. Family members who attended the concert at the Sevenoaks site hall were very appreciative and commented on the cohesion, fluency, and musicality of the students in addition to their amazing talent.
