Over half term, forty Year 13 students attended a skiing trip in Grandvalira, Andorra. There were four skiing groups comprising two beginner groups, an intermediate group, and an advanced group. Skiing is always hard work, but the students showed Courage throughout the week by challenging themselves to improve every day. All students were fantastic company and displayed a great sense of humour despite tiredness, accidents, and injuries. It was particularly rewarding to see some students advancing to higher ability groups throughout the week as their confidence and technique improved.
In addition to the skiing, students stayed in the centre of Andorra la Vella, which allowed for some evenings of tax-free shopping, bowling, and ice-skating. On the final day they were given a walking tour around the old city of Barcelona to learn about the history of the city, enjoy some local food and shop for tacky souvenirs!
Here are a few words of thanks from our students to the staff who took them to Andorra:
“Thank you so much for not letting me give up. I could not have got through this trip without all of you. I am so grateful for all of the help. Thank you for everything.”
“Thank you lots and lots for making this trip so much fun! I have enjoyed it lots and lots. Even though, I found the skiing very challenging to begin with, because of your help my confidence really improved this past week. I hope you had a lovely time too.”
“Thank you soooo much for making this trip so special. I really appreciate how calm everyone was in every situation and you have made it so much fun. Thank you so much for organising this amazing experience.”
“You genuinely made this trip so special for everyone and it wouldn’t have been the same without you. Thank you for looking after everyone and keeping the vibes extra lit. And always staying calm.”
“Thank you for being so supportive and helpful with everything. This has been the best week of sixth form, thank you all so much.”
