Megan Pitts and Josie Hawthorn (left), Year 12, gave a superb performance at the Paddock Wood Choral Society Christmas Concert on 13 December.
They sang the solo movements in Vivaldi's Gloria beautifully - a real credit to themselves and the school. Many members of the audience commented afterwards about the quality and maturity of their performance to a sell out capacity crowd.
Josie Hawthorn also took part in the Association of English Singers and Speakers (AESS) Catherine Lambert Junior Competition and came third. She took part in the competition in 2013 and also came third. The competition required a preliminary round in London and then a final round at The Purcell School of Music. The final took place on Sunday 22 November and Josie again came third with her 15 minute recital based on 'mythology'. First prize was awarded to a junior member of the Royal College of Music who is 18 years old, so Josie did extremely well given the competition.
