Keeping on top of Litter
A willing group of Year 7 students took part in a litter picking session during lunchtime on Friday, 20 March to support National Clear Up Day. The Eco Group, run by Assistant Headteacher Mrs Barker and supported by Ms Denny, wanted to take part in this national event, by clearing their school grounds of litter.
Ms Denny said, “In some ways it was good that there was not an enormous amount found, but it did keep us busy and the girls enjoyed doing something positive for the environment and their school. It also reminded students, particularly those who observed us, to put their litter in a bin.”
Year 7 student Laura Byrne said that she was asked if she was doing a detention. She was happy to reveal that she was a voluntary participant!
