Seven of our Year 10 girls took part in the Further Maths Support Programme (FMSP) Maths Feast. It is a challenging team competition testing mathematical, team-working and communication skills. The competition is designed to encourage students to take Maths A Level, in particular Further Maths and encourage continuation of Maths at university.
Forming two Weald of Kent teams were, Sabah Peermohamed, Lia Sutherland, Sophie Taluy, Katie Rosendale, Adele Egeland, Daisy Widdicombe and Celine Cresswell. One team achieved the highest score in the ‘relay’ round and so came first. The other team came second in the ‘building a cube tower from paper’ round. Only the best Maths students from schools are entered and our students did extremely well and are congratulated on their success.
