Charlotte Brontë Celebration

On Thursday 21 April, students at Weald of Kent celebrated Charlotte Brontë’s bicentenary. LRC Manager Ms Dawson wrote to all 27 Charlottes in the school, asking them to play a special part in the celebrations by contributing a photo of themselves to be displayed in the foyer along with their date of birth so we could see whose birthday was nearest to Charlotte Brontë’s. The closest was Charlotte Jepps in Year 7. At break time some of ‘our’ Charlottes as well as the Pupil Librarians assembled in the foyer and were joined by Mrs Johnson, Mrs Jones and three of the Governors. Lottie Starling read a tribute to Charlotte Brontë before we all enjoyed some delicious chocolate cake baked by Jo in the Wokerie.Bronte
