Extra Curricula: Challenge and Intervention
Mathematics enrichment clubs are held during the lunchtimes
There is a chess club and a puzzle club.
Maths helpline is a lunch time support club offering students the opportunity to receive extra help on topics that they find challenging.
Students may be directed to attend if their class teacher has identified that further intervention is required.
Students in years 10 and 11 support those in years 7 to 9 and students in years 12 and 13 support those in year 10 and 11 through a buddy system.
Students may request a buddy or be allocated one by their class teacher.
We enter students for the UK Mathematical Challenges
Year 8 are entered for the Junior Challenge.
Year 10 are entered for the Intermediate Challenge.
Years 12 and 13 are offered the opportunity to enter the Senior Challenge.
We also enter a team of students in the Year 8 and 9 interschool team challenge and we host and run an interschool Year 7 team maths challenge each year.
