Judges of ‘Shape Your Story’, a creative writing competition run by Year 9 and 10 pupils for Years 7-9, were blown away by the standard of work submitted, both written and artistic.

The competition was devised by Julia, Satvika and Valentina who volunteer in the Tonbridge site library as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.  Each story had to be just 150 words long with an accompanying cover illustration and entries could be individual or in pairs or threes. Writing a complete story in only 150 words is quite a challenge but the authors managed to convey a range of emotions within this tight remit, and the judges went from feeling genuinely moved to thoroughly spooked. With such a diverse range of high quality entries it was extremely difficult to select the winners. Well done to everyone who entered, and to Julia, Satvika and Valentina for coming up with such a great idea.
